OC Paws Dog Training has partnered with Pet Supplies Plus Huntington Beach to offer positive, group training classes.
Our certified trainers will offer small group classes to help your puppy or adolescent dog get started off on the right paw.
Our classes are designed to help YOU become your dog’s best teacher. We utilize only the most positive, up to date training methods that will result in a happy and healthy dog. Even though you will be in a group setting, our trainers will ensure you and your dog get the attention you need and deserve. We aim for “Only PAWSitive Results!”
Puppy Basics: Intro to Positive Socialization & Training $250
10 weeks old to 6 months old*
This 4 week class is designed to introduce both you and your puppy to positive reinforcement training. Puppies will learn some basic behaviors such as: sit, down, off, place, watch, stay & basic leash skills. This class will focus on positive socialization and behavioral enrichment. We will teach you how to set your puppy up for success, learning how to navigate the world around them. Our class size is limited to 4 dogs, you will get a lot of individual attention. Your trainer will also cover some puppy management topics such as: ideal daily schedules, potty training, mouthing, chewing and jumping.
Adolescent Dog Basics: Raise them Pawsitive $250
6 months to 18 months old*
This 4 week class is for dogs who are moving out of the puppy stage and into the adolescent development stage. We know this stage can be challenging and we want to keep it PAWSITIVE! Your trainer will help you and your dog advance your basic behaviors and begin to add in more structure. Our class size is limited to 3 dogs, you will get a lot of personalized training. We want to help you and your dog have a smooth transition into canine adulthood.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Class $350
4 months to 12 months old*
The 6 week AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program focuses on all the things every puppy and owner need to have a great start together. STAR stands for Socialization, Training, Activity and a Responsible owner and in six weeks of STAR puppy classes, puppies and dogs learn important behaviors and skills. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy prepares pups to move on to Canine Good Citizen training. For example, in STAR, puppies must walk on a leash in a straight line. In CGC, the task becomes more advanced with dogs walking in a pattern that includes right and left turns and stops. The skills in AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy classes are practical and functional. Teaching puppies to tolerate grooming, handling, and basic exams of the ears, feet, and mouth will result in well-mannered puppies that veterinarians are happy to see. * Group Classes are for dogs who do not present any aggressive, reactive, or fearful behaviors towards other dogs or people. You must speak with a trainer to ensure your dog is a good fit for a group class. If we find that your dog is not a good fit for group class, we gladly offer private training. We want all of our clients to be successful.
